Maria Angela 'Apol' Estabillo
Architect
Apol displayed an artistic temperament from an early age. At age 14, she manifested as one and in 1996 became one of the youngest among the 5 winners of The National Oil Painting Competition of the National Power Corporation on the theme: “NPC: Kuryente Tungo sa Kaunlaran at Pangangalaga ng Kalikasan”.
As she desires to expand her knowledge in the arts, she took Visual Arts courses at the University of the Philippines before entering college. Despite her passion for Visual Arts, she decided to take Bachelor of Science in Architecture at the University of Santo Tomas and graduated Cum Laude in 2004.
She started working for an Architectural and Environmental Planning Firm right after college and did several Architecture, Interior and Master Planning design projects both local and international. In 2008, she received her license as an architect. She was also involved in Local Government Urban Planning projects specifically in generating Comprehensive Land Use Plans of some of our local Municipalities, exposing her to the real beauty of our country and different cultures of our folks. Later she worked as a senior Architect at Saelit International, an engineering firm based in Afghanistan, subcontracting design build projects for the Ministry of Defense of The United States of America in Kabul, Afghanistan. Saelit’s design projects were totally different from her previous design project. Designs mostly very basic, aesthetics were not a priority.
This led her to a decision of becoming a freelance graphic artist, architect and a contractor. On February 2015, Apol together with her colleagues created Apice Design Studios and continued to bring each project experience as architects and project managers on a diverse range of projects including residential, commercial and interior. Her project at Sucat Parañaque in 2016-2017 at the Miraculous Medal School was one of her big accomplishments.
Apol gets her design inspirations from Filipino Folk Architecture and Contemporary Tropical Philippine Architecture and Contemporary Architecture. For her, architecture in the Philippines must reflect the ingenuity and artistic culture of the Filipinos and at the same time serves its function. She also believes that art and science of architecture must not be separated from each other because a well-planned edifice must consider not just aesthetics but also function of spaces, technical, social and environmental.
She is an active member of the United Architects of the Philippines, Diliman chapter since 2008. She held the position of UAP Diliman Chapter President in 2018-2019 and UAP DILIMAN Chapter Treasurer on the prior year 2017-2018 .
She received the most-coveted award of UAP Most Outstanding Chapter President Award at the 2019 United Architects of the Philippines National Conference, while doing her maiden project as a developer in 2017-2018 at Manila.
Marita 'Marie' Cortez
Business Development Manager
Marie is an experienced Business Development Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the retail and real estate industries. She is skilled in estate pocket development, brick and mortar sales, digital marketing, advertising, creative direction and market research. Strong business development professional with a Master in Business Administration at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business and Bachelor’s degree focused in Marketing Management from De La Salle University. Increased competency in financial planning as a Registered Estate Planner and Registered Financial Consultant at the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants.
Over 20 years in retail marketing, Marie is a master at budget management, prioritizing impact and results over spend. She managed international skin care, cosmetics and fragrance brands for Galderma, Rustan’s Group of Companies, and VMV Ltd .
Marie oversaw an internal revolution in marketing to focus on digital, and has managed impressive wins in measured engagement and sales conversions. She ran the Marketing and Sales departments as such a tight ship so that no expense or effort is unaccounted for or untraceable (again, not all that common in some marketing departments). Because of her, discipline and a heightened sense of measurable results are part of our marketing culture. She is a guardian of ethics which is both so fundamental to how she believes businesses should be run. She’s a guardian of ethics in the many other business areas that she participates in, including account management and customer service. A leader in areas as diverse as estate development to overall sales, and more.
